Generate a URL slug from a title
Paste a headline or a whole list, one per line, and get lowercase, hyphen-separated slugs with accents and punctuation removed.
A slug is the readable part of a web address: "10 Tips for Crème Brûlée!" becomes 10-tips-for-creme-brulee. Letters are lowercased, accents are stripped, apostrophes are dropped so "don't" becomes dont, and every other run of punctuation or spaces becomes a single hyphen. Leading and trailing hyphens are trimmed. The other styles, kebab-case included, are one click away.
How to generate a URL slug from a title
- Paste the titles. One per line.
- Slug is preselected. Every line becomes a slug as soon as you paste.
- Copy. Paste into your CMS or code.

Questions people ask
Should I remove small words such as "a" and "the"?
It is a style choice. Shorter slugs are easier to read and share; leaving the words in keeps the slug closer to the title. Delete them by hand if you prefer.
What about letters from other alphabets?
Latin letters with accents become plain letters. Letters from other alphabets are not transliterated and are dropped, so check the result for non-Latin titles.
