Questions people ask
How do I use capture groups?
Turn on regex, put part of the pattern in parentheses and refer to it in the replacement with $1, $2 and so on. For example, find (\w+)@example\.com and replace with [email protected].
Can I replace line breaks?
Yes. In regex mode \n matches a line break, so \n\n+ replaced with \n collapses repeated blank lines.
What does whole word do?
It only matches when the text is not part of a larger word, so replacing cat does not touch category.
