Most online text tools send what you paste to a server. myowntext does the work in your browser instead, which is faster, works offline, and means a contract or a private message never leaves your device.
How it works
Cleaning markdown, counting words, comparing versions or converting case is ordinary computation that a browser handles in a few milliseconds. myowntext is a static website: the pages carry the code, your browser runs it, and no request is ever made with your text.
The one heavier tool, image to text, downloads an open source recognition engine and a language pack to your browser the first time you use it. Your images are then read on your device.

Honest limits
The readability formulas are English-only. Sentence counting is a good estimate, not a linguist. Image to text does not read handwriting. Fancy text is made of mathematical letters that screen readers spell out, so use it sparingly.
