Remove duplicate lines and tidy up lists
Paste a list, a log or a broken paragraph and apply the fixes you need: deduplicate, sort, trim, collapse spaces, drop empty lines, number, reverse, or join line breaks.
How to remove duplicate lines and tidy up lists
- Paste the lines. Lists, exports, logs, text copied from a PDF, or drop a .txt file on the box.
- Tick the operations. They run in a sensible order: join, trim, collapse spaces, remove empties, remove duplicates, sort, number.
- Copy the result. A summary shows how many lines were removed or changed, and "Show what changed" lists every edit.

Questions people ask
Is duplicate removal case-sensitive?
By default two lines that differ only in case are treated as the same. Switch the option off to keep them both.
How does "join line breaks" decide what is a paragraph?
A blank line always starts a new paragraph, and bullets and numbered items keep their own lines. Inside a block, a line that ends a sentence and stops well short of the block's longest line is treated as a real paragraph end, because wrapped lines in a PDF or email run close to the full width. Words split with a hyphen across lines are rejoined.
How does sorting handle numbers?
Natural sort is used, so item 2 comes before item 10. Sorting by length puts the shortest lines first, or longest first if you choose.
